Welcome to Pilates CentralPilates is a unique methods of exercise that looks at the body as a whole and seeks to make you stronger, more flexible as well as giving you greater control and resilience. A typical session lasts from 60-80 minutes and will incorporate work for all facets of the physical being. Working all parts of the body but especially emphasising ‘core stability’ or the muscles that control and support the spine and pelvis, in other words working the body from the inside out. Each session is tailored to the clients individual needs whether they be general fitness, rehabilitation, sports specific training eg Golf or any activity at all. Pilates provides an opportunity to find a deep communion between mind, body and spirit. Not merely increasing the strength of a muscle but improving how the muscles are working, individually and in synergy with the whole body. This control of the body and ease of movement can then be applied in all other activities of daily life from the most demanding sporting activity to putting the washing on the line. |
